How do I submit my Nomination?

Entry is by online application only. The online entry system can be found at the Registration & Entry Page

How do I name my files?

All Files need to be named with the Nominee’s name (person that is being nominated) as follows:

SURNAME_FIRSTNAME_EH_file number.jpg

SURNAME_FIRSTNAME_EH_file number.pdf

SURNAME_FIRSTNAME_EH_file number.mov

*EH is Eco Hero

As an example of your file might be Brown_James_EH_1.jpg

 

How do I know if my Nomination is successful?

Successful Nominees will be emailed a Submission Form by the Underwater Tour Awards (Submission Form).

 

How do I know if my nominations and submissions have been received?

Once your files have been uploaded and saved, they are automatically included in the competition. You will receive an email confirming the upload is successful

How is the competition judged?

We appoint a panel of judges to evaluate all Nominations and Nominee Submissions.

Stage 1

A pool of Semi-finalists will be chosen by the Awards Jury between 9 am (AEST) on 1st of March 2021 and 4pm (AEST) on 14th March 2021 (Selection Period) The Underwater Tour Awards may, at its absolute discretion, extend the Selection Period.

Stage 2

Finalists will be chosen by way of a People’s Choice Vote that will take place between 9am (AEST) on 18th March 2021 and 4pm (AEST) on 31st March 2021 (Voting Period) The Underwater Tour Awards may, at its absolute discretion, extend the Voting Period.

Stage 3

From the Finalists, the Jury will choose the Eco Hero between 9am (AEST) on 1st April 2021 and 4pm (AEST) on 14 April 2021). (Judging Period) The Underwater Tour may, at its absolute discretion, extend the Judging Period.

Stage 4

Finalists chosen through the Voting Period will be announced at the Underwater Awards Ceremony.

Stage 5

The Eco Hero as chosen by the Jury will be announced from the Finalists on 23 May 2021

Is the prize open to entrants who reside outside of Australia?

Yes, the Award is open to all persons worldwide who demonstrate that they are individuals of good character and are community role models whose work or activities create a positive benefit for others in one or more of the following ways: nurturing a sense of belonging and inclusion; helping in times of community crisis; building community resilience; promoting positive health and wellbeing; improving access to community services and groups; and/or protecting the local environment.

Are there any age restrictions?

No, however Parent/ Guardians must sign all forms from the Nominator and Nominee Submission of entrants who are under the age of 18 at the date of close of entries.

What happens if my submission is corrupted or unreadable?

If your submission is corrupted or unreadable by us, we will endeavour to contact you in order to arrange for the image to be re-sent. If the entry is still unreadable after resubmitting, the entry will be disqualified.

We will endeavour to respond to your email as soon as possible. However please note that in the days leading up to the end-date of the competition, the increased amount of internet traffic and submissions may mean that both the speed of our submission system and our ability to respond to technical issues will be reduced. We recommend initiating submission of entries early in the competition so that if you do come across any technical problems, our staff will have plenty of time to help you with any problems you might experience.
